Quick Tips for getting the best use out of your Tjet^® device and TEV-TROPIN^® injections

It is always best to wash your hands before injecting TEV-TROPIN^® A therapy that treats children who have growth failure due to GHD. It works by replacing growth hormone in the body. The growth hormone in TEV-TROPIN^® is made in a lab, but it works just like the growth hormone a body would make or using the Tjet^® device A Needle-Free device for injecting TEV-TROPIN^®. The Tjet^® device is available by prescription to all patients who are taking TEV-TROPIN^®
If you feel you did not get a full dose with your injection, you do not need to inject yourself twice. It is best to wait until your next scheduled dose
When winding your Tjet^® device, look for the solid black and red bars in the Dosing Window. They show that you are nearing the point where you should not wind the Tjet^® device any further
Each Tjet^® device Needle-Free Head The "injection" part of the Needle-Free Tjet^® device. The Needle-Free Head can be used for one week before you need to change to a new one. The Tjet^® Needle-Free Head comes in 3 sizes: A, B, and C (size A Heads are included with the Demonstration Kit) should be used for no more than one week. After one week, replace with a new Needle-Free Head
“Vials in the ‘fridge'. Devices on a ridge.”—Store vials of TEV-TROPIN^® in a nonfreezing area of the refrigerator (such as near the milk). Keep your Tjet^® Device outside the 'fridge', at room temperature (59°F to 86°F; 15°C to 30°C); pick a place where young children can’t reach it (such as a shelf)
It is best not to take your Tjet^® device to school with you where it could get lost or damaged
Try to administer TEV-TROPIN^® around the same time each day. For example, make it part of your nighttime routine
Remember to change your injection sites with each dose
If you miss a dose, don’t worry. Just be sure to take your next scheduled dose
After each injection, be sure to “reset” the Tjet^® device. This is done by winding in the direction of Arrow 1 until you hear and see the injector button pop out. Then, turn in the direction of Arrow 2 to reset to “0.00.” This should be done before storing your Tjet^® device until your next injection.

This program offers injection When a medicine enters the body through a needle—either under the skin, into a muscle, or into a vein. Growth hormone therapy is injected under the skin training and education, as well as insurance and reimbursement assistance.

TEV-TROPIN^® [somatropin (rDNA origin) for injection] is indicated for the treatment of children who have growth failure due to growth hormone deficiency (GHD).

Important Safety Information

Growth hormone may be used in children with confirmed Prader-Willi Syndrome only when diagnosed with GHD. Children who are severely overweight, have breathing problems while awake or asleep, and have lung infections should stop use of growth hormone and consult a physician. This may occur more in boys. Tell your doctor if you have severe abdominal pain as inflammation of the pancreas has been reported in children and adults.

Changes in eyesight, headaches, nausea, and vomiting may occur. Frequent eye examinations should be done before and during treatment. Patients should be observed for elevated blood glucose, underactive thyroid, underactive pituitary, skin cancers, development of a limp, or complaint of hip or knee pain. Patients with rapid onset critical illness as a result of open heart or abdominal surgery, multiple accidental trauma, or rapid onset respiratory failure should not be started on TEV-TROPIN^®. Patients with injury or active cancer in the brain, eye problems related to diabetes, or bones that have stopped growing should not receive recombinant growth hormone.

When TEV-TROPIN^® is administered at the same site over a long period of time, damage to the tissue may result. This can be avoided by rotating the injection site.

Because TEV-TROPIN^® increases growth rate, patients with a history of curvature of the spine (scoliosis) should be monitored.

TEV-TROPIN^® may interfere with other drugs removed from the body by the liver and careful monitoring is advisable.

The liquid provided to mix TEV-TROPIN^® should not be used in newborns because of associated toxicity. Doses of reconstituted TEV-TROPIN^® greater than 1 mL are not recommended. Consult your child's physician for doses greater than 1 mL. Do not exceed the dose recommended by your child's physician.

Headaches, enlargement of the breast tissue in children (gynecomastia), and inflammation of the pancreas (pancreatitis) have been reported during appropriate use. In studies of GHD children, injection-site reactions, for instance pain or bruising, occurred in 8 of the 164 treated patients. Type 2 diabetes mellitus has been reported.
